In Surah al-Kahf (18:50–59), Allah exposes the roots of mankind’s greatest trial: the enmity of Iblis (Satan). When Allah commanded the angels to bow before Adam, they all obeyed except Iblis, who was filled with arrogance and defiance. From that moment, Iblis became an open enemy to humanity, striving to lead people away from the path of guidance.
The verses also remind us of the history of earlier nations who rejected their messengers. Despite receiving clear signs and repeated warnings, they turned away from the truth. Allah gave them chances, delayed their punishment, and extended mercy — yet when they persisted in denial, His justice came upon them.
