The Message of Islam Is the Message of All the Prophets

In Surah Ash-Shura (42:1–16), Allah reminds us that the message revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is not new or separate from the messages of earlier prophets. Just as Allah revealed guidance to Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, and ‘Isa (peace be upon them all), He revealed the Qur’an as a continuation and confirmation of the same eternal truth: worship Allah alone and establish justice among people.

The surah emphasizes that Islam is the common call of all prophets — submission to the One God, devotion to truth, and rejection of falsehood. The differences between communities came only when people fell into dispute and division after knowledge had come to them.

Allah commands the Prophet ﷺ to remain firm on this straight path and to invite others with wisdom and sincerity. The call is not to sectarianism but to unity upon the worship of the Creator, who forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills.

Thus, the Qur’an places the message of Muhammad ﷺ in its rightful place: not as a break from the past, but as the final link in a chain of prophets, all calling humanity to the same truth — pure monotheism and sincere devotion to God.
