Etiquettes of Dialogue and Disagreement in Islam.

Islam encourages respectful dialogue and teaches us how to disagree without hatred or insults.

“And speak to people good [words].”
(Qur’an 2:83)

Even when debating those who oppose the truth, the Qur’an says:

“Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good advice, and argue with them in the best manner.”
(Qur’an 16:125)

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ never argued harshly, even when mocked. He showed patience, gentleness, and truth.

In Islam, disagreement is not a reason for division — as long as it’s based on sincerity and respect.

True dialogue aims to guide, not to defeat.
