The original message brought by all prophets—from Abraham to Moses to Jesus (peace be upon them)—was pure monotheism:

Over time, this message was distorted.

Many among the Jews and Christians:

• Turned religion into a system of power and profit.
• Invented beliefs like the Trinity or claimed exclusive favor from God.
• Allowed priests and rabbis to declare what is lawful or unlawful, placing human authority above divine truth.
• Collected money, sold forgiveness, and exploited the faith of people for personal gain.

The Qur’an says:

“They have taken their rabbis and priests as lords besides Allah…” (Qur’an 9:31)
“…and devoured people’s wealth unjustly…” (Qur’an 9:34)
