Signs of Divine Power in Creation, Provision, Life, and Death — and a Refutation of the Atheists

In these verses from Surah Al-Waqi‘ah, Allah reminds humanity of the signs of His absolute power. He is the One who creates us from nothing, who grants us life, and who takes our souls at death. He is the One who provides us with food, water, and sustenance, and who has power to withhold them if He wills.

Every seed that grows, every drop of water that falls, every breath we take — all of them point to the Creator’s care and control. These signs are not random, but clear proofs that life has purpose and direction.

The Qur’an challenges those who deny God: Can you create life? Can you control death? Can you bring forth crops without His will? The answer humbles the heart: all power belongs to Allah alone.

For the believer, these verses are a reminder to be grateful, humble, and certain that our lives are in the hands of a wise and merciful Creator. For the seeker, they are an invitation to see that behind the order of the universe lies not chance, but the will of Allah.
