The Call of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): A Call to Monotheism, Part of the Legacy of All Prophets

In Surah Al-Ahqaf (46:1–9), Allah establishes the Qur’an as a revelation of truth, confirming what was revealed before it. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is not introducing a new religion, but rather reviving the timeless call of all prophets: worship Allah alone without partners.

The surah highlights that earlier communities rejected their messengers, yet the essence of the call never changed. It was always a call to monotheism, accountability, and righteousness. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ declares that he is not the first messenger, nor does he claim power independent of God. Instead, he conveys the message entrusted to him, relying completely on Allah.

This passage reminds us that Islam is a continuation of the legacy of Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, and ‘Isa (peace be upon them all). The mission of Muhammad ﷺ is therefore universal, inviting humanity to the same truth that has been echoed throughout history — submission to the One Creator.
